Our house is creativity friendly. Perhaps too much so. My oldest son said, “Mom, you have to take a picture of our living room.” And so, here it is. Lego central. It’s been this way for at least 2 weeks. Today we are picking it up to vacuum….after I post this….Okay okay, I promise.

One thing I really enjoy is a mess. A good old-fashioned lost in play mess. One that lingers, shifts, expands and recreates itself. One where you know your child was so lost in their work they didn’t even realize what the space around them has become. And while I pine for that beautiful Pottery Barn catalog house, I see it’s just not our life. Our kids can create and explore in any room of the house, display their creations for all to see, and you know what, that’s pretty great too.
