My youngest fella took a piece of paper and told me to vacate the kitchen while he worked. He penciled away at a little masterpiece, his very first knitting pattern. He then hounded me to make it, wondering just what it may actually be. Inspired by, and using the same symbols he saw in this cowl, he charted to his heart’s desire, then put me to work.
The result is pretty interesting. It’s been a bit of a game for us, naming what it looks like. I tried it as an acorn topper, cornucopia, and tree. I’m wondering if I knit a few and layer them, it could become a flower with all the petals? A brooch? While my mind mulls it over, he is pleased. “Mom, are you going to knit it again? Don’t you just love it?”
Yup, kiddo, I do. More than you’ll ever know.
